- After decommissioning, in May 1976 the ORP Błyskawica was moved to a site in Gdynia, Poland, replacing the ORP Burza,
which had accompanied her and her twin ship, ORP Grom, to Britain in 1939.
- ORP Błyskawica is the only Allied warship to have actively participated throughout
the entire duration of World War II, from September 1, 1939, to May 8, 1945.
- She is the oldest preserved destroyer in the world.
- Visitors can explore the ship to learn about Polish naval traditions and history.
- ORP Błyskawica is moored at Nabrzeże Pomorskie (Pomorskie Quay) in Gdynia and is usually open
to visitors from Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a break from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
